From the time she was a young girl, Kathryn looked at the world as if through a viewfinder, composing pictures in her head. Her father, a photographer, would not buy Kathryn the cheap Instamatic camera she wanted, but urged her to earn the money and purchase a high-quality SLR. She was seventeen when she bought herself a Minolta SR-T 101. Since then, she is rarely without a camera.
Kathryn’s photos evoke feeling. Whether accompanying doctors on a medical mission trip in the African bush or exploring village life in Ukraine, Kathryn captures the essence of a place and draws you into the intimate daily lives of people she meets.
