Kathryn’s first mission trip was to Senegal, West Africa, where she accompanied doctors and nurses at medical clinics in the bush. The trip was a few months after God healed her of lupus.
Kathryn often awoke before sunrise to wander through the village and see it come to life—shepherds drawing water for their flocks, women pounding millet, a long line forming in front of the clinic. She went with the doctors and nurses to the remote clinics, visited schools, rode in the back of a pickup truck through the sands, accompanied doctors making house calls, and documented it all.
“You have the best job,” said one of the nurses. Kathryn wholeheartedly agreed.
